In the Mad Englishwoman's garden.

Of course she's not really mad. I call her that affectionately.

She lives up the stairs behind a red gate with bell that jingles when you open it.

The porch is covered with flower pots

and she maintains an aviary outside her front door.

Inside, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves

and large abstract paintings.

The whole back wall is a window onto her small garden.

And some naturalized lavendar,

But mostly, it's about tall roses and climbers.

If you want to sit down right now, you'll have to fight it out with Salvia dorisiana.

It looks like a very pleasant space. I don't see lot of evidence of madness, though. Maybe it's a very mad-sounding jingle on the gate.

Love the avian portraits.

I like the naturalized look and atmosphere of "wild abandon"

Wow! I love her gate, the bell, her birds and the window that looks out into the garden. I want to be a Mad Englishwoman! Thanks for sharing her garden and home.

I love the walls of books and the window-wall that overlooks her garden. I'd sit there for every meal and put my desk in front of it too.
