Blake Garden

I had Monday off and spent the morning at a favorite haunt, the Blake Garden in Kensington, an unincorporated pocket between Berkeley and El Cerrito.

Fall is here, but it's early so it still feels like summer. Gardens are a good place to orient yourself to the autumn light.

Eriogonum

Eriogonum arborescens

Do you let the dead things stand in your garden? I like to let them be for awhile, but cleaning up the garden gives me a lot of satisfaction. And it depends on the particular dead thing, and how I feel about the garden overall.

Phlomis

I'd go find the quote from Piet Oudolf quote about "dying interestingly", but I've got the ball game on, and a cat on my lap.

Not a lot of activity in the vegetable or flower garden. Some roses. Lots of bees!

Cool ornament, well-done with spare parts.

Thanks for sharing the "Blake Garden in Kensington." I would enjoying seeing that one day. Another perspective of our Golden Gate Bridge
