A walk in San Francisco this time of year is a blessed thing. But maybe not today. Today is foggy and a little cold. I took these pictures yesterday when it was sunny. Today, staying home with your cats is a blessed thing.
A little bit dissonant to totally fence off your yard from the neighborhood and put up a peace sign and Christmas lights.
My sunflowers are still just seedlings compared to these.
My neighborhood park is beautiful by any reasonable standard, but also the kind of place you can take for granted when you live in San Francisco.
The Eucalyptus globulus is invasive, but I'm pretty sure the message refers to humans too. Such is San Francisco. But what comes around, goes around. "Kill vandals and taggers" is how I feel. So there.

Copper canyon daisy (Tagetes lemmonii) on the left and Centaurea gymnocarpa on the right. Two plants that get real big, flower pretty much all year, and thrive on neglect.
This view always stops me cold when I turn the corner here. I have never gotten a picture that captures it well.

Love your walks, Chuck. That sign might better read "Hills and foliage block view." Nice plant pics and I was only a little startled by the eyeballs on stalks.
to think I grew up in the East bay and lived briefly in SF , I never took a blind bit of interest in any of this amazing landscape.. lovely post ..thank you

Vandals and taggers are annoying, but executing them might be a bit excessive.

Maybe that last heart-stopping view would be better captured as a panorama? I find that landscapes often are better when they are wider.

Just happened upon your sight, and I loved that you took pictures of what you see every day. We forget that there is beauty in our everyday surroundings....not just when we vacation in a great city like SF, which I have only been to once. I regret that I didn't stop and smell the flowers that your pictures show the many colors of. Thanks again for posting!

Most of your walk might best be titled "Steep". Happy that I'm not carrying bags up some of those steps.
