Purisima Creek

Some pictures from a 4-hour hike in Purisima Creek yesterday. This is one among many open space preserves in San Mateo County. We've been here before, but yesterday I took a different trail, starting from the southern PC parking lot on Skyline Road. I am fortunate to have so much beauty in my backyard. My other backyard.

I did this for 4 hours today and it was exactly what I needed.

After a long meandering descent through a mixed fir-redwood forest, the trail rises through oak, prairie and coastal scrub. On a clear day you could see the ocean.

Too much fog to see the ocean today.
