Some pictures from today's outing in Edgewood Park, perhaps?
Now is the time for what I guess is Lupinus albifrons there.
The other thing you'll see a lot of right now is Indian Warrior (Pedicularis densiflora).
It seems to grow mainly in the root zone around oaks.
"Kiss me," said the oak.
The path up the park's western side takes you right alongside a dramatic Ceanothus cuneatus. No way to get a picture of the whole thing without stepping off the path. You know I'd never do that. :)

these are awesome! i love the close up of the kids in that boulder and of course, the deer ! (i so miss CA).
If Mr. Oak wants a kiss, he's going to have to mix in a little chapstick every now and then! (Ouch, those lips are dry... lol.)
I love that Indian Warrior. How funny that it grows along the root zones of the oak...
