I brought my camera w/ me when I dropped my car off for an oil change and tune-up. Welcome back to the Mission District.
I don't know why it can't just be a garden. Obviously, the plan has changed since 1996. None of these plants are "local". Take the sign down too. It wears me out.

Dolores Park is under long, long overdue renovation.
Are those Phoenix canariensis, or P. dactylifera? I'm inclined to think the former.
Sidewalk beautification has really taken off in the Mission. Of course, I am thrilled.
I think the giant Aeonium is Aeonium undulatum.
