Big Sur Coast

We spent Halloween weekend in Big Sur. I took all these pictures from turn-outs during a late afternoon drive on Highway 1.

Although Big Sur's landscape is heavily invaded by the pampas-like jubata grass Cortaderia jubata (I can't bring myself to take pictures of it), the native yuccas seem to be doing fine. I didn't find any in bloom, unforch.

Most scenic. That is a lot of beach with no people on it. I guess it isn't easy to get down to the water. Besides it cold water anyway.

Big Sur is a treasure. We lived in Santa Cruz for years and late fall was always the best. Fewer tourist and warm late summer weather. thanks for the pictures.
