Note how this group of palms seems to be growing right out of solid rock.
The cliffs were a little too steep for Guy who got the spins up here. Look to the right, look to the right...
The trail ended near another palm oasis with a little stream running through it.

Your pictures remind me of why I love the desert so much. Seeing the palms growing between the mountains is so appealing as an oasis.
That's really deserty.
I briefly attained that relaxed, summery feeling. It's gone now but it was worth it to go just to have it for a day or two.

My camera makes the blue sky really blue. Not that I mind, but it's probably a little misleading. Then again computer monitor color settings vary a lot too...
Thanks again for a series of amazing and beautiful pictures introducing a landscape that I will probably never see but which is fascinating. I love your walks and the garden is interesting too especially as it goes through changes and developments as any garden will.
Palms the way they are supposed to look. I hate the way they strip all the bottom leaves off palms here in Phoenix. Sometimes they only leave one or two sticking out of the top... and just when the palm is looking full again - they come back and do it again.
I understand the stripping of the brown leaves - I won't do it, but I see the aesthetic. But I don't understand taking most of the green off. It's too strange.
