Remember when we went to Guerneville in November, 2007?
I can't recall if that was the last time we were there, or if that was just the last time I blogged about being there.
Well, we were there again for a couple of days...
and we played miniature golf.
Putting-through-mouth motifs occur frequently in these old mini-golf courses...
Cannibals preparing dinner...less common?
Cannibal close-up.
For whatever reason, this course has a definite horror motif. Ghosts in the deep, dark woods...
Ghosts in the Arundo donax 'Variegata'
Our friend Paula fantasizes about buying this place one day. I fantasize about her hiring me to do some gardening. The urge to garden was nearly overwhelming.
But so was the urge to win. And I did win the first game. This hole is one of my favorites, and I do believe I got a hole-in-one here. You can just barely see the hole in the center of the spiral.
Instead of oriental lilies, some daylilies would be perfect in that corner planter.
And this little clump of Acanthus mollis should be divided and propagated throughout the park.
Tomatoes already grow in the castle potager:
And who doesn't love that.

Wow - that is really cool that you noticed the garden while golfing. Obsessions tend to make their existence known. :D
Dinosaurs and plam trees are old friends - great shots of the grinning T Rex!! Arundo scares the $#@*^%$ out of me so the spook is fitting. You would be a great gardener among the defined spaces there, love the bright colors. Ah, Guerneville in summer, I hope your golf was punctuated later with some blazing Cabernet at riverside!!
Ghosts and a castle potager? I'd like to move in.
LOL - you caught the essence of the place. And congrats on your win! I'm thinking Guerrilla (Gorilla?) Gardeners need to attack, don't you? I'm glad I'm not the only one who dreams of re-designing unhappy gardens I come across in my travels.

Very creepy little golf course. Awesome. I agree though that the garden needs some work. I disagree with spreading the Acanthus around. My neighbor has a wall of it planted along our narrow driveway and I always get scratched by the spikes.
Acanthus has spikes? I had no idea!
