Tropical Topics, Maui Edition: Final shots from the Road to Hāna

We've been on the Big Island for two days now, but I'm still finishing up the blog of the Maui leg. Our last stop on the road to Hana was the "Garden of Eden" a little botanical garden in the middle of nowhere. The garden itself is fine, but the views around it are great.

There isn't much of a horticultural wow factor at that garden. All the ordinary plants. Long time ago there was a tropical cut flower farm closer to Hana that had a lot more wow factor. That guy moved upcountry and runs the Kula Lavender Farm now.

Yeah, it was not the most fabulous garden, but I didn't want to say that. Also, at $10 per person, a bit of a tourist trap. The guide book said it was a treasure. We're learning to be more skeptical of those people's judgments.

That first shot is what I see when I think of Hawaii, with the waterfalls and all.
