Interesting article, although it doesn't SELL Oudolf's ideas very well. I have his book, "Designing with Plants", but he was preaching to the choir here at Faire Garden. NYT has been disappointing on Thursday's of late, they need to pick it up!

Argh. I still regret that I didn't have time for a day trip to see his garden while I was in Amsterdam last summer.

I hope life hands me a reason to go to a city with an Oudolf garden. Or, maybe California will get one someday.

I have admired his work for years, enjoyed his books, and have followed the High Line park project in NYC. However, I couldn't and wouldn't want to attempt that look in my garden. It is probably a control issue.

I'm attempting his style in a very abbreviated manner. I have some native grasses that go summer dormant, and I spread some Nigella seed. My garden should have the Oudolf look by late August and last until the fall rains, about two months later.

I like his ideas, especially integrating wildflowers and grasses...thank you for the info!
