It may sound funny, but I never thought about where the name Palm Springs came from. Beautiful images, Chuck. The whole area seems untouched by man, except for the pathways?
FrancesAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8759330860236504280.post-59256920753411843202010-01-08T08:33:38.806-08:002010-01-08T08:33:38.806-08:00Hi Chuck,

What a wonderful glimpse into this rare place. Gorgeous photos - thank you for including the human bean fior scale, I needed that. I had Pallisades-size palms in mind but I was way off! I will certainly look forward to more pics!Bonnie Storyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10500058929186043543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8759330860236504280.post-8089016781073934462010-01-08T07:34:25.673-08:002010-01-08T07:34:25.673-08:00Very cool Chuck. As much as I really don't care for all the palm trees used in landscaping in the Bay Area, seeing native palms in their natural environment is much different. Loved all the pics & look forward to more. The Dirt Guyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07028447495904869068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8759330860236504280.post-13710858569566529542010-01-08T05:55:32.958-08:002010-01-08T05:55:32.958-08:00Never been to Palm Springs or seen a real oasis. They self seed like crazy and grow incredibly fast. Not my favorite palm.

It is hard to imagine the scenario where a landscaper gets smothered by the fronds and three guys are stuck in the same tree. Climb back down dude.Christopher C.
