Halema'uma'u...Pele's hair is really quite dramatic. Halema'uma'u must have been venting big time if they wouldn't let you get right up to the edge. I never saw it do that. Mostly just wispy stuff along the edges of the larger Kilauea crater.<BR/><BR/>All the activity was at the lava flows from Pu'u O'o vent that buried the neighborhood.Christopher C. Very cool, I mean, hot.<BR/><BR/>I flew over a bubbling-with-mud volcano cone in a little twin-prop plane at the end of that Tanzanian safari I went on a few years ago, and it was mighty impressive.
